translation, editing and formatting services

I have the training, experience and tools necessary to translate your manuscript from Spanish into English at an academic level, translating the specific terminology in your field with precision. I also offer editing and formatting to prepare articles for publication in journals.

Obtain more academic citations

Have a bigger impact in your field

It's important to be part of the conversation in your field. Articles that are published in English get cited much more frequently than those articles that are published in other languages such as Spanish. In fact, may of the citation engines work exclusively in English.

Translation can help you reach a broader audience.

Make your research available in English

close the 'language gap'

According to a study on the language gap in scholarly research, more than 30% of the scientific knowledge produced around the world may be lost due to language barriers. Work that is only available in Spanish can lack visibility. Translating your manuscript into English helps ensure that your research and analysis will have an impact in your field and beyond.

Megan is a superb editor! I worked with Megan to get my paper polished for publication, and her help was invaluable. She has a very keen eye, and she was able to help me communicate complex ideas more clearly. I could not recommend her more highly!

I have the academic training and translation skills to help you get your work published in English.

I was born in Maine and learned Spanish in Venezuela as a high school exchange student. I went on to earn a Bachelor's in Latin American studies and anthropology at McGill University, and a Master's in Latin American studies at Georgetown University. I did fieldwork and archival research in Venezuela and Mexico for my Master's and earned "distinction" on my thesis. I discovered my love for translation while working as a communications advisor for Latin American governments in their diplomatic offices in Washington and New York. I remain committed to academic knowledge, attending conferences such as the LASA Congress and reading specialized journals. A language enthusiast, I collect specialized dictionaries and glossaries and draw on various digital language resources that help me to deliver precise translations. Research is a big part of this work, and I enjoy it.

I sent Megan an audio file containing some challenging Spanish sound bites. In very short order she returned to me a spot-on translation, with time code in all the right places, in perfect format. Her services were much appreciated, and I would highly recommend her to anybody in need of fast, professional, top-quality translations.
